Artists and art lovers alike are invited to partake in a series of free professional development seminars that aim to inspire, enlighten and clarify aspects of the complex art world. Learn how to approach the media, communicate with your audience successfully and to promote your work. Ask those tricky questions you have always wanted to ask the judges, gain an insight into what Judges and pre-selection panels look for when choosing works for competitions, and learn about the huge range of opportunities and art prizes that are on offer locally,nationally & internationally.

Session 1: The Art of Self Promotion

In this insightful seminar learn how to approach the media, promote yourself and your artwork, and give yourself the best opportunity to be seen!  Join Naomi Quinlivan of Candy Stripe Public Relations to gain the tools that are invaluable for your future.

Session 2:  Inside the Judging Process

11:00am to 12:00pm

Join Art Gallery of WA Associate Curator Dunja Rmandić and Gillian Peebles, who holds qualifications in 'Exhibition Procedures' and the 'Judging of Visual Arts to International Levels' with the Royal Academy of Arts London for a Question and Answer session on understanding the processes behind the selection and judging of artworks.

Session 3: A to Z of Art PriZes

12:00pm to 1:00pm

Join Martin Shub, Publisher of Art Prizes and the Australian Visual Arts Databases (AVAD) and Tina Wilson, founder and Executive Director of ARTrinsic Inc. for an insightful look at the A to Z of Art Prizes. Featuring information on local, regional, national and international prize opportunities available to artists and how best to approach the art of competition.
