Eventopia is an online service (operated by Eventopia Pty Ltd, ABN: 11 151 324 382) which provides tickets to events on behalf of the person or entity responsible for organising the event (Service).

At Eventopia, we are committed to protecting and maintaining your privacy. Also, Eventopia is bound by the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1998 (Cth) (Privacy Act).

As part of our business operations we may collect your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes the type of personal information we may collect and how we use, store and disclose this personal information.

Generally, Eventopia will handle personal information collected online on the Eventopia website at www.eventopia.co (Site) consistently with the way that it handles personal information collected offline. Where this Privacy Policy applies to online privacy issues, it is to be read as forming part of the Terms & Conditions of Use for the Site.

Eventopia may, from time to time, review and update this Privacy Policy to take account of new laws and technology and changes to Eventopia’s operations. All personal information held by Eventopia will be governed by Eventopia's most recent Privacy Policy, which is available on the Site at www.eventopia.co/privacy or by contacting the Eventopia Privacy Officer at the address below.

Generally, personal information is collected directly from you at the time you:

• register to use the Service as a person or organisation responsible for an event (Event Organiser);
• register to use the Service to purchase or obtain a ticket to an event through the Site, or when you purchase or obtain a ticket to an event at an event box office (Customer);
• have other dealings with us, for example, over the phone, when you write to us or when you make an inquiry or participate in a survey, questionnaire, competition or other marketing campaign.

We may also collect personal information through:

• third parties such as our related companies;
• business partners who assist us to provide Eventopia’s products, offers and services; and
• data washing organisations.

Generally, we collect and use personal information about Customers and Event Organisers to provide a range of products and services.

The main reason we collect the personal information of Customers is so that we or the Event Organiser can contact you in the case of an event cancellation or to notify change of event details. We may also need some of this information in order to process your payment (for example, if you pay by credit card online).

The main reason we collect personal information about Event Organisers is so that we can provide you with the ticketing and other related services you have requested from us.

We may also collect personal information to assist in identifying ways in which we can provide Customers and Event Organisers with a better service, such as providing them with information regarding our products and services more effectively.

Unless you tell us otherwise, Eventopia may use personal information about you for marketing and research purposes. You can let us know about this at any time - all you need to do is contact Eventopia if you no longer wish to receive marketing material (the contact details of our Privacy Officer are below). Please note that we may still need to use your personal information to provide you with the products or services you have requested from us as a Customer or an Event Organiser.

How is personal information used and disclosed?

Eventopia may use and disclose your personal information for a variety of purposes in connection with providing you with a product or service. Eventopia’s uses of your personal information may include:

• if you are a Customer, to provide you with the tickets you have requested;
• to provide you with the products and services you have requested from us, including advertising services;
• processing and administering your dealings with us as a user of the Service eg as a Customer or an Event Organiser;
• contacting you in the case of an event cancellation or to notify change of event details, as detailed above;
• to develop processes, products and services to better meet your needs;
• to provide people with ongoing information and advertising about Eventopia's products and services in which they may have an interest; and
• disclosure to and use by third party contractors and service providers both inside and outside Australia who help us operate our business or provide a service to you. Eventopia may disclose your personal information to third party contractors and service providers who help us operate our computer systems, send out our mail/email, conduct research on our behalf and clean collected data.

Eventopia does not sell personal information without your consent. Eventopia may disclose your personal information in certain limited circumstances as follows:

• disclosure of your personal information to third party contractors and service providers both inside and outside Australia who help us operate our business or provide a service to you. For example, Eventopia’s contractors include companies that help Eventopia to operate our computer systems, send out our mail/email, conduct research on our behalf and clean collected data. In particular, the personal information we collect is stored by Flavorus Inc. (who supply the Eventopia ticketing software) on its servers located in the US.
• disclosure of your contact details to Event Organisers so that they can provide you with information about the event for which you have purchased or obtained a ticket and, if you consent, promotional material about upcoming events.
• disclosure of your personal information to organisations related to Eventopia such as other Nine Entertainment Co. companies. This may, for example, help us ensure that information collected is accurate, complete and up-to-date and also better enable us to understand and meet your needs and interests.
• disclosure of your personal information to anyone you authorise Eventopia to disclose personal information to.

The non-personal information we collect may be gathered directly, or combined with non-personal information from other websites or outside parties. Non-personal information may also be gathered by cookies and other web technologies, for example, we may collect information about your browser type, language, etc.

Sometimes Eventopia extracts information from its collected records to produce aggregated data. This aggregated data does not identify individuals. Eventopia uses the aggregated data for research purposes and may share the data with third parties.

Eventopia may pass your personal information on to the Event Organisers of events to which you have purchased or obtained tickets, to keep you informed of future events. You will be asked at the time of booking if you would like to receive this information. You may change your preference at any time directly with the Event Organisers which have obtained your information. If you do not have their details you may contact our Privacy Officer directly.

We take physical, electronic and managerial steps to ensure that the personal information we hold is secure from unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure. We only permit your details to be accessed by authorised personnel and we educate our staff about their responsibilities under the National Privacy Principles. Eventopia has also appointed a Privacy Officer to oversee Eventopia’s management of personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act.

Additionally, we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information when we no longer need it.

Where it is lawful and practicable to do so, you may transact with Eventopia without providing personal information. However, if we do not collect personal information about you at the point of sale or issue of the ticket, we may not be able to provide you with all of the services you have requested from us and, for example, we may not be able to contact you in the case of an event cancellation or venue change.

Under the Privacy Act, you have a right to seek access to information which Eventopia holds about you. You also have the right to ask us to correct information about you which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. If you are registered to use the online Service, you are able to access or correct the personal information by logging onto our Site (www.eventopia.co). If you are not registered to use the online Service, you may access the information that Eventopia has collected about you by placing your request in writing and sending it to us using the contact details below. Please include your phone number and enclose a copy of a form of identification such as a current driver's licence or passport with your request. Eventopia's policy is to consider any requests for access or correction within 21 days of receipt.

If it is necessary to provide you with the goods or services you have requested from us or to fulfil the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, we may transfer your personal information to people or organisations in foreign countries, for example to:

• third party contractors and service providers including Flavorus Inc.;
• data processors; and
• information technology and business process service providers.

Where this occurs, Eventopia takes reasonable steps to ensure that all personal information is handled in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.

The Site uses cookies. Most web browsers are set by default to accept cookies. However, if you do not wish to receive cookies you may set your browser to either prompt or refuse cookies. Please note that rejecting cookies will disable your browser from purchasing or obtaining tickets from our Site. We also use cookies for tracking the statistics of our Site. This allows us to better understand our users and improve the layout and functionality of our Site. This tracking is conducted in such a way to ensure the anonymity of visitors.

Eventopia uses a mechanism to transfer sensitive data over the Internet called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). SSL is a protocol protocol for encrypting information over the Internet.

Eventopia has relationships with other companies that we allow to place advertisements on our web pages. If you visit our Site, advertisement server companies may collect information such as your IP address and clickstream information.

Sometimes our Site contains links to third party websites, for your convenience and information. For example, our Site contains links to the PayPal website which allows us to provide you with a convenient payment option. When you access a non-Eventopia website, please understand that Eventopia is not responsible for the privacy practices of that site. We suggest that you review the privacy policies of each site you visit.

Eventopia may change its Privacy Policy at any time. Eventopia will make available this policy to anyone who requests it.
