Colouration & Connections
This intriguing jewellery course is perfect for participants who want to explore possibilities using metal colouring or coloured acrylic as a focus when making unique jewellery pieces. It will expand upon the fundamentals of jewellery making and design to take jewellery making to the next level, but beginners could also be catered for with the use of simple pre-cut templates and shapes.
Students will learn a variety of simple techniques for adding colour and contrast to their jewellery including heat colouring of copper, oxidising, colouring titanium, heat forming acrylic, and working with found non-metal materials.
The class will also explore ways to connect elements together and how to create movement using riveting and linkage techniques.
Participants will develop their technical skills and design development while also experimenting with materials.
At the conclusion of the course participants will have designed and made a single piece or small series of jewellery which uses some form of colour or connectivity.
All specialist materials and tools required to make the jewellery will be provided and is included in the fee apart from sketch/notebook, pen, pencil & general stationery
