Learn how to create your own digital artwork
You will become familiar with the interface of Procreate and leave with an understanding of the tools and features and how to use them to create their own digital artwork. The introduction to Procreate would include; definition and explanation of tools, the use of brushes, how to create textures, managing layers, applying effects, colouring, how to export files, how to place images and document set up.
You will be supplied with a reference drawing to practice using different brushes, paying special attention to how much pressure is applied with the pencil and what this achieves. We will also look at changing colours, line weight of the brush and opacity. Following this you will develop a basic understanding of digital painting, using a photo as a reference. You will learn how to apply a fill colour to certain areas and also how to build up colour as if you were applying real paint to paper. We will cover colour mixing, blending colours and the benefits of using layers. Time permitting, to finish off the class, you may bring your own photo or drawing that you would like to work on. You will receive guidance on getting started and cover any remaining questions.
