Introduction to Copper Plate Etching and Aquatint

Lecturer – Lorelei Medcalf

This 2 day intensive workshop is an introduction to intaglio printmaking

Working with professional practicing printmaker Lorelei Medcalf, learn how to prepare a copper plate, coat with hardground, draw with different tools, etch with ferric chloride and print using an etching press. Learn drypoint techniques, and how arrange of tones can be created using aquatint.

An A6 sizecopper plate, ink and Hahnemuhle etching paper will be provided.

No previous printmaking experience is required.

What to bring:

- Sketchbook with ideas and drawings

-  Pencils

-  Apron

- Disposable gloves

 *Minimum age 15+

Please wear enclosed shoes (no thongs or sandals).

* Course runs subject to minimum numbers.  No refund will be granted unless TAFESA cancels the course prior to the start date in which case a full refund will be provided. No concession.

 *Please note if you arean International student here on a student visa 500 you are not eligible to enrol in this short course.
